Let's Get This Party Started!

So~!
This is my first time using Blogger. Tumblr is so much simpler (haha)!
I've only looked at a handful of blogs before now. My favourites, should you be interested, are:

Hyperbole & A Half
Which is delightfully written. It's one of those anecdotal blogs, but it's so wonderfully written, and the illustrations really make it engaging and fun to read. I've never enjoyed reading about someone else's life so much before (haha!).

Ask Arceus
Ask Arceus is a delightful blog written the guise of a fictional character from the series of Nintendo games "Pokémon." It is beautifully role-played and illustrated, and has interactive appeal with its audience.

Failblog
This blog is hilarious. While some of the content shared may be considered offensive, there is something for everyone as long as you're willing to skip over those items.

So as you can see, I'm easily swayed by pretty pictures when it comes to reading, which is why most of the television I watch is centred around cartoons.

And as if this single post wasn't getting long enough, I'm going to randomly share all the work I did today. Yey!

I started out by testing what I could do with a simple office pen. It's surprising the amount of different effects you can get with a pen.

And then I somehow ended up with this monstrosity. Haha! I've never been so terrified of one of my own drawings before. It reflects how uncomfortable people make me feel.

I followed this up with some post-it note sketches of the university campus. These were pretty simple and scribbled.

The use of a pen meant that mistakes could not be erased, which is an interesting way of practising.

I'm most proud of the drawing of the student smoking outside the lecture theatre, although I'm not sure why. It's probably more of an emotional attachment because it's the first one I drew.

And then I decided to practice drawing a flour sack for an up-coming animation project. I have a certain affinity for anthropomorphized objects.
It's amazing how much digital application can improve the look of your drawings, huh? XP

Continuing with the idea of anthropomorphism, I then tried my hand at a fox. It doesn't have the cartoony charm of the floursack, but I think it worked out quite well.
